Description: Breakfast Program presentation, "HAS THE COST OF PARTICIPATING IN BEST VALUE SELECTION PROCESSES MADE YOUR BUSINESS MODEL UN-SUSTAINABLE?" This question was recently posed to a number of experienced Design-Build professionals at the DBIA National Convention. At that convention the consensus was by a number of practitioners that Design-Build as it is being practiced by many Owner’s is becoming too costly to compete. These competitions as they are being administered by owners and their teams with little understanding as to what is being asked by them. The time and cost requirements as well as the deliverables that are required to be turned in are causing many practitioners to rethink their participation in Best Value Design-Build programs.
This forum is selected to represent members of the industry consisting of a builder, an architect, a consulting engineer and a specialty Design-Build subcontractor. In addition veteran Design-Builder and Owner’s Representative, Ed Wundram, will sit on the panel to give the owner’s perspective on this process.
