Description: DBIA-WPR Bay Chapter IN PERSON Lunch Program with Stanford, "SLAC Conventional Facility Projects and Design-Build Opportunities." SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (SLAC) will be executing a $1B-$2B capital improvement plan (CIP) over the next decade. This presentation will provide an overview of SLAC’s CIP, with a focus on three design-build project opportunities.

1. The Large Scale Collaboration Center (LSCC), a facility for interdisciplinary scientific collaboration and visualization of experimental data.
2. Critical Utilities Infrastructure Revitalization (CUIR), a replacement and modernization of site-wide utility infrastructure to keep SLAC mission ready.
3. Matter in Extreme Conditions Upgrade (MEC-U), to design, fabricate, install, and commission a high-peak-power and high-energy laser facility, for a national user facility for High Energy Density Plasma Science (HEDPS).

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy Office of Science, and pushes the frontiers of human knowledge and driving discoveries that benefit humankind.
