The Panama Canal is one of the twentieth century’s greatest engineering achievements. In order to accommodate more massive vessels, the Third Set of Locks project is expanding the canal by adding two new locks (one on each end). Grupo Unidos Por El Canal (GUPC) is leading an international joint venture design-build on the largest on-going D-B project in America. This $3.4Bil project is approximately 60% complete and will showcase how design-build can provide innovative designs. Paul Cooley will present on the project background and how design-build is delivering an innovative design that is saving the Owner time and money.
