One of the main impacts of BIM in the Design-Build world, is the use of virtual coordination in the design and construction phases of a project. This process has created a new “field” of expertise on What, When, Who, How and Why to effectively implement a coordination process. The speakers will be Jim Youngblood, a consultant for LACCD, who has a vast experience with virtual coordination utilization from the owner’s point of view and David Francis of Southland Industries, who will bring the Design- Build contractors experience in the process. Both will be using industry experience and lessons learned to present an outlined approach from design to construction to maintenance on utilization of virtual coordination.
