Date: August 15, 2012

Time: 11:30am - 1:00pm

Location: Dave and Busters, Irvine Spectrum, Irvine CA

Description: DBIA-WPR Water/Waste Water Presentation at OCWA (Orange County Water Association)

"Implementing Design-Build for Water/Wastewater Projects"
Speakers: Mark Filanc and Iraj Asgharzadeh, DBIA

Design-Build is an alternative delivery method used successfully for over $1 billion in water/wastewater projects over the past two decades in California. When used correctly, it can shorten the delivery time of projects and provide owners flexibility and control. Many owners are using design-build because they have less resources to manage multiple contracts and need to save resources. This presentation will describe the different types of design-build used by the water/wastewater industry and how they can be successfully implemented.

Mark Filanc and Iraj Asgharzadeh are members of the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) Western Pacific Region. They have both successfully completed design-build projects as a contractor and public agency manager respectfully. Together they will provide a broad range of expertise in Southern California that can benefit other public agencies.
