Description: Luncheon Program, "PROCUREMENT ISSUES FOR FEDERAL AGENCIES - NAVFAC'S MASSIVE DESIGN-BUILD PROGRAM." The Federal Government has been a leader in alternative delivery since the completion of the Pentagon repairs after 9/11. The U.S. Navy’s construction division in San Diego (NAVFAC Southwest) is one of the most active users of design-build in all government agencies. Over 80% of NAVFAC Southwest’s capital projects are being delivered using alternative delivery. This presentation will review their current capital program and how they have changed their design-build procurement methods over the past few years. Jennifer Llamas will present on NAVFAC’s upcoming horizontal and vertical construction opportunities in their $1Bil budget.
