The DBIA Western Pacific Region serves as a resource for owners who utilize or are interested in learning more about the design-build delivery method.
The Western Pacific Region has developed an Owners Council to provide owners with the opportunity to meet with each other to share lessons learned and best practices in design-build. The Owners Council works to determine the most appropriate, effective and timely strategies to address the needs; facilitate the opportunities; and minimize the obstacles faced by owners as they seek to understand and utilize the project delivery most appropriate to their needs.
The Owners' Council is open to owners of private and/or public construction projects - vertical or horizontal. The Council gives owners a chance to network with their peers without pressure from industry practitioners who may be interested in promoting their products and services.

California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations used Design-Build for the first time on three critically important projects. Due to Court mandates the schedule was very short and the facility had to achieve extremely high health care standards. Three contracts totaled $765,000,000. The complex came in ahead of schedule and satisfied the Courts. Given the schedule advantages of Design-Build and the ability to select based on qualifications the Department surpassed objectives. We would have never gotten there without Design-Build.

The design-build delivery method provided the right avenue for great collaboration between the designer and builder, resulting in perfect solutions to unique project challenges as the project progressed.
